지난번 주문에서 달달한 탐바야 뿐만 아니라 다른 커피들도 마음에 들었던 터라 다시 한번 주문해야지 했던 레드 루스터 로스터즈가 좋은 일이 있었네요.

우선 CoffeeFest 2016 NYC에서 America’s Best Espresso 부분 1등을 차지한 에쏘 블랜드입니다.
America’s Best Espresso는 1년에 각기 다른 지역에서 3팀의 우승자를 뽑고, 2년에 한번 6팀이 모여 다시 1등을 가리는 식으로 진행되는 대회라고 하네요.

내추럴과 워시드의 에티오피아를 블랜드했다고 하네요.

A blend of natural and washed Ethiopian coffees. Intensely floral and berry aroma, creamy texture, cherry and cranberry sweetness, and a finish of effervescent tonic with a twist of lime.

Winning Recipe(수상 당시 사용한 레시피):

  • 22 grams of coffee in portafilter
  • Begin extraction at 9 seconds
  • Total extraction: 25- 30 seconds

레드 루스터에서 따로 MilePost라는 란을 통해 소개하고 있는 직거래 혹은 한정수량의 커피들 중 하나가 새로 입고 되었네요.
사실 예맨은 상업적으로 커피를 재배한 최초의 국가지만, 오랜 내전으로 현재는 예맨 커피를 만나는 것이 점점 더 어려워지는 현실입니다. 레드 루스터에서도 많은 양은 구하지 못해서 132 파운드가 다라고 하네요. 8oz 단위로 판매하고 있으니 총 판매량이 250-260 봉지 정도에 불과할 것으로 보여 더 주문을 서두르게 되었네요.
The flavor explodes with bourbon and dried strawberry, finishing with red wine intensity and the classic natural processed combo of dark chocolate and walnut.
